Dongle instead of land line.....

I've used T-Mobile (Free PC+Dongle and 1yrs BBand from my son's school), 3 and O2 (both on dongles and via a "tethered" smartphone. In my area 3 gave the best coverage and speeds, although it was no-where near as fast or reliable as our Virgin cable service. You also have to deal with the odd site being blocked by their content filtering software.0

I use both an o2 dongle (work) and a 3 dongle (personal)
Two years ago, I could have dropped the 3 one over a bridge - it drove me nuts with poor signals, disconnecting all the time. It's been much better over the last six months or so.
The o2 one has always been more consistent, but often slower.
Neither perform like home broadband though. If you're after broadband speed, I'm afraid the "mobile broadband" is a misnomer.
There's also the capacity issue. I have a 15Gb/month contract with 3, which is more than enough - but only because I use my home broadband to download movies etc. If you do much downloading, you'll soon use up any mobile BB allowance, I assure you.0 -
Best bet is buy a 3 myfi unit and get it unlocked so you can use any simcard.
