Can anyone clarify this please.
Husband, ex army left in 1992 after 20 years. 9 years after leaving army divorced and married again. If at some point he dies before me, do I still receive any pension?
Thank you for your help

Bobby,
Please have a look at this link -

Then this AFPS 75 (1975) booklet -

Hi Bobby
Here's a link to the leaflet for AFPS75 (the pension scheme changed for joiners from 2005, and some swapped to the new scheme, but I think your OH will still be old scheme):
http://www.mod.uk/NR/rdonlyres/73C97FDF-BCDA-4B3F-A686-CA8533FD52BC/0/afps75_mmp106_your_pension_scheme_explained.pdf
Page 20 onwards is the section for if the pension scheme member (sadly) dies. Unfortunately it won't let me copy and paste the text, but hopefully this will answer your questions.
Things that may affect the widow's pension (generally half the member's pension) are
- whether there was a pension sharing order from a previous marriage
- for post-retirement marriages, only service after 6 Apr 1978 counts
-
In addition, If your OH should die before he's being paid his pension (and after he's left Service), it's called 'death in deferment' and the preserved lump sum, uprated for inflation, is payable to his eligible dependant or estate.
Hope that helps - you can always call the SPVA to hear it from them, but the leaflets they publish are quite good.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0
