You should pay rent of £161.27. That is what the agreement says. And you should also pay your arrears of £135.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

hi
thank you for your replies, the £135 is the different between the two figures.

Ask them why they are asking for £167.72 when you have a signed tenancy agreement for £161.27
Presumably you have a copy of this agreement in your possession to refer to.0 -
Sarah - Is this an AST (assured shorthold tenancy) and if yes, what is the Fixed Term? Does the contract have a specific clause about *future* rent increases?
If both you and your LL/ signed a tenancy agreement in April for a set amount of rent then that is the figure you should be paying.
If the LL or LA "made a mistake" on the actual written agreement then that's tough ( for them). Phone your local Council and ask to speak to the private sector tenancy relations officer, who can deal with the LL on your behalf , if necessary0 -
You could always point out that you'd meant to say £150 and ask landlord for the money they own you

by the way - is this a weekly rent? If so do you have a rent book? If not your LL is breaking the law. See Shelter here.0
