UPVC double glazed windows - reduce size?

Hi. Does anyone know if its possible to take the opener off a UPVC window to make it smaller, please?

must be me but your post doesn't make sense. If you take an opener off then the window can be made bigger I would think.
More info would help people answer your problem0 -
Sorry, I mean remove the opening section totally from the frame leaving only the fixed panel. We have done this before with a bay window which we split into flat windows, I just wondered if it was possible with a flat window.0

If I understand you correctly, you have a window which has a fixed part, and an opening part. You want a simpler window which is one big pane of glass. Yes you can do this... Maybe. I had windows with two openings in them, and I reduced them to one opening. So it can be done. The problem is you aren't supposed to reduce the ventilation available to a room - that's a building regs thing. So it can be done, but it's possible the window company might not be prepared to do it. Mine didn't even question - they just did it. If you DIY or ask a builder to do it, then you shouldn't have a problem. I never used to open the window anyway, so I didn't feel I was losing out on any ventilation by removing it.0
