Repairing scuffed alloy wheel

Hi,

I have a small scuff on one of my alloy wheels and am wondering how best to repair it - normally I would have left it but have only had the car a month and am fed up about it!

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Preston/Blackpool area to get it fixed?

Thanks
Sarah

You can get alloys refurbed for about £50+.I'd imagine a small scuff will be cheaper than that.
  • Have emailed a couple of places I found through yell.com, not sure if it will be worth repairing as will prob only scuff it again!

Well if its only a small scuff and you aren't selling the car I'd just leave it myself.Especially as you think you might do it again.
  • It is only a small scuff right on the edge of the rim. The car is only 4 weeks old (10 plate reg) so wont be selling it anytime soon.

For small scuffs they charge about £30 per wheel

Look around and you can get a wheel fully refurbed for that.

If I was the OP though and it was just one wheel, I'd consider buying one from a dealers and keep the scuffed one as a spare and drive more carefully in future. It won't be cheap though but should have the exact same factory finish.

Could always fit some Alloy rim protectors which should prevent damage

Not heard of those before. I know you can get tyres with a rim protection feature designed in.
