Replacing gas coals

Hi
The coals on my gas fire are starting to degrade and need replacing. I've been quoted 70 odd quid for the proper like for like coals, but think this is excessive.
Does anyone know, are the cheap ones available on ebay for a tenner up to the job?
Cheers

I replaced mine on a midas verine some years ago and they were about £25 for 23 of them so does seem a lot. They need doing again but as the fire won't light , the ceramics don't look great and the control knob is graunchy I'm going to replace the fire. Wouldn't like to comment on non identical replacements , I don't mess with gas.0

remember to use gloves when handling the coals. they are carcinogenic.
dont use your bare hands.Get some gorm.0 -
OP have you thought about painting them? Youo can use the spray paint used on car engines ( heat resistant ) available at Halfords's etc. Set you back about a tenner and it works a treat.0

If the OP's issue is like mine they wear down after time. I recall last time it was serviced the chap sprayed the back panel and have to say it did look much better.0
