Bare minimum make up & toiletries for a long weekend away?

Options
I started making my list and as I flipped over onto the second page I realised I was being ridiculous. All that - for three days!

I'm hoping when I see some sensible lists I'll be able to cut mine right down.

problem is if you are a full make up kind of person you would need the same products for one day as you would for 2 weeks!

    I would take....

    make up remover wipes
    deoderant
    perfume
    primer or serum or moisturiser
    concealer
    mineral powder/foundation
    bronzer (also use as blush)
eyeshadow x 3 at least (light colour, med colour and dark)
    liquid eye liner
    mascara
    lip gloss x 2
couple of coloured eye liner pencils - one with glitter
Big powder brush and 2 eye make up brushes

That would do me for 3 days easily and I like a full face of make up.

you might also need shower gel, shampoo/conditioner (although these miht be provided were you are staying) and hair styling products if you use them???

    Hope that helps x

    For 2-3 days:
travel sized shower gel (it will do for hair too, but you could take a shampoo/conditioner if necessary)
    toothbrush & paste
    deodorant
    essential medication

    moisuriser/hand cream
    lipsalve
    suntan lotion if needed

For 2-3 days let your skin breathe! However if you insist on makeup, then:
    mascara
    tinted moisuriser
    lipgloss

If you are staying in a hotel rather than a travelodge etc, then you can skip the shower gel etc!

    Soap
    Shampoo & conditioner
    Heat protection spray
    Toothpaste
    Deodorant
    Moisturiser/tinted moisturiser

    Makeup:
Face powder, blusher, mascara (maybe foundation if I don't take tinted moisturiser)

    Contact lens cleaner/wetting solution

    Shower Gel
    Deodorant

Also, facial wipes, mositurser, spot gel, tweezers, hairbrush, nail varnish to touch up if needed, toothbrush and toothpaste and mouthwash

    Make up

    Foundation
    Bronzer
    Blusher

What are you planning to do that weekend and how are you travelling?

That would influence what I needed to take, if I was trying ;) to be sensible.

Glowgirl you are a girl after my own heart! :D I would love to be a packing light type of person, but I'm just not!

Bronnie It's a weekend away with Hubby and parents with hill walking and things during the day but evenings out in nice restaurants.

Geri1965 Would it be cheating if I counted the basics like toothpaste and soap etc in with Hubby's packing even though I'm going to make use of them? ;)

LE3 Well reminded on the medication front. I have stuff for eczema and asthma to pack as well which leaves even less room on the holiday bathroom shelf for lipgloss and the like!

hot.chick That is exactly my problem! I'm used to using so many products on a daily basis that it feels so weird to try and get by with just a few.

After studying your lists this is what I've got it down to:

    Cleanser
    Face Oil
    Moisturiser
    Eye base / eye cream
    Tinted moisturiser
    Concealer
    Powder
    Lip balm
Palette containing eyes cheeks & lips and also use one of the e/s on brows
    Mascara
    Makeup brushes
Shampoo to double as shower gel
    Conditioner
    Hair serum
    Body lotion
    Perfume
    Hairdryer
    Disposable razors & tweezers
    Contraception
    Painkillers
    Asthma inhalers
    Eczema creams

Might also add a lipliner and eyeliner on the ground that they don't take up much space! :D

    Bare minimum i'd take...

-Lush Godiva solid shampoo bar. This is shampoo/conditioner in one. I also use it as a shower soap and it won't leak out everywhere.
    - face wipes to take off make-up.
    - A good moisturising balm like Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream or Liz Earl Superbalm. This can be used as moisturiser/handcream/lipbalm/deep hair moisturiser at night.
    - Mascara (a mini one)
    - something like Nars the Multiple that can be used as eyeshadow/lips/cheeks etc.
    - foundation. I like Lily Lolo mineral powder that I can use dry during the day (also has SPF) and damp for more coverage at night.
    - deoderant
    -Toothbrush/toothpaste (a mini travel type)
    -mini brush

(maybe)-solid perfume (takes up less space, its lighter and less likely to break/leak)

I would have my eyebrows threaded before I go then no need for tweezers, legs waxed or epilated (no razor).

However in reality I end up taking most of Boots!

    Jacks,

I think your new list is just fine - enough of everything to make sure you don't feel naked on the face, but is a nice compact little set.

    Have a lovely weekend away

How about taking nothing more than shampoo, conditioner and soap?

    Everything else is excess baggage.
