I am so angry I am in a mind to write a complaint about this, how dare they send a letter to a disabled person basically saying that their benefits are all wrong and they were coming to check them and not even have the decency to call said person to explain what's going on and arrange a time that the person will actually be at home?
You'd be right to complain. If it resulted in a loss of money, you'd be quite within your rights to ask for compensation.
It may or may not be worthwhile copying in your MP is you pursue the matter.0 -
As I said before, contact your MP. Can contact him/her online. As it's a joke . Mention the distress it has caused etc etc..0

Got a call at work today from the visiting officer who, though he couldn't tell me much on the phone, explained that I have nothing to worry about and he's postponed the visit for a month so that we can get the meeting over with when he's back from his holiday (apparently that's an indication of how not serious this is).0
