Share folder for web access?

Is there an easy way to share a folder on my home pc which I can access via a web browser while out and about? I don't want remote control, I would just like to be be able to download from and upload to the folder from another device's web browser - with password protection, of course.

I would prefer not to have to configure the router or its firewall if possible.

Have a look at DropBox. Very easy to use synchronising program, and very good at what it does... Saves me so much time. Also serves as a small backup of important files if your computer crashes.

And AirDropper if you want files from other people who don't use DropBox.

Thanks for that. I did know about Dropbox but I was hoping there might be a simple way of just sharing a folder on my machine without uploading to a cloud service.
