During my recent trip away I snekaed slightly over my overdraft limit a couple of times. I originally got a bill for £50 for going over my limit, but thanks to the comments/suggestions/knowhow from this site, I managed to get this wiped off.
Got another statement this morning, and there's another £25 charge for going over my limit (while I was still on the same trip). I called HSBC and told them I really wasn't happy.... He told me there was nothng I could do, but he didn't realise I was an MSE'r!
I complained/argued/negotiated for 30 mins but was getting nowhere. Finally he told me he couldn't wipe the charge off, and was there anything else he could do for me.... I asked him what the best way to move my account to another bank was, and he asked if he could call me back. 2 hrs later, he called me back, and the charge has gone!
I'd have always tried to get the charge removed, but if it wasn't for MSE I'd have believed him after 5 minutes of him telling me that there was nothing he could do....
You saved me £75
I owe you one Martin!
Thanks
