Not sure what to do next......

Hi..

I had a complaint regarding PPI throught yorkshire bank. I took out a loan a number of years ago for 1000, and ppi was including... a few years later I took out another loan with the same bank and they paid of the orginal loan and I started a new one, which also included PPI. I took the advise on this site and asked the bank for the return of the ppi...no joy... went throgh the FOS..and this started in Oct last year. Last week the FOS confirmed taht it was misold and that the complaint was now going that the Ombudsman, after an Adjuicator had already gone through this and the bank had not responded.
I have waited a while for this to be confirmed it was misold, but was suprsied when the FOS asked if I had had two loans and each one would have to be treated as a seperate complaint and they would have to now put the first one on hold and go through the whole porcudure with the bank again, relating to the first loan.. and this can take another 4 months or so...? I feel very dispaaointed with the FOS as the papaerwork was always included and shows very cleraly the two loans....

Hi there

May I ask if the FOS are asking you to write to them again on the other loan?
Or are they doing this themselves on your behalf?

I assume they would get on with the one and deal with the other if the bank have not given a favourable response, you never know, the bank may uphold on it and if they did and you had the same reasons for being mis sold, then they should have also upheld on the other if you know what I mean.

I would get in touch with the FOS, whoever is dealing with your complaint for regular updates, and also ask them if they are going to be dealing with the one they already have whilst waiting for the other.

Good luck with this and hopefully it won't come to 4 months, I suppose they had to give some sort of timescale, fingers crossed.;)

Thanks for the reply... The FOS said that they are going to contact the bank ref the 2nd loan, but the first complaint, will now be put on hold until the FOS have had a response from the bank regarding the 2nd .... They didnt reply to the FOS at all so far....
Thought that both would be taken as one complaint and suprsied that the FOS have only thought to look at it as two companits.. when ust about to be passed over to the Ombundsman....

Thanks. I called the bank myself today and they said that the first loan was over 6 years old and they have no details on file any more. I asked them to confirm this in writing and then called the FOS.He said that this will now go to the Ombudsman, as Yorkshire bank are not responding to any requests from them. He said that it could take another 4 months or so now.......
