Water butt downpipe connector
Hi,
I've just bought a slimline water butt kit from Argos but having opened it I've realised the downpipe connector is for downpipes of 60mm diameter. My downpipe is around 50mm but can't seem to find any connector kits that size anywhere online.
Can anyone recommend one or does anyone have an idea where I might find one? Or alternatively any ways I could get around the issue without having to buy a new kit?
Thanks in advance

If your able to place the butt directly below the downspout it can fill up straight from the roof, you can then drill out a hole near the top and fit an overflow tank connector which you then pipe down into the drain that your spouting used to go into.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

I would agree with above infact thats where mine is at. Alternatively i recall from my set up Homebase has loads of connection sets in stock. expect £10-£15 its not cheap. Better to put under the down pipe if you can.Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!0

Wouldn't the water butt be over the drain that you want to pipe the overflow into?
Might it be cheaper to change the upper half of the guttering to 60mm and the junction thingy at the guttering at roof level (if you can do it yourself)?
Sorry if I'm confusing things.

With a few plumbing bends etc it is easy enough to pipe the new overflow from the butt into the existing drain, a few bends, 1 1/2" overflow connector and a length of pipe should cost well under a tenner, avoid the sheds and buy direct from a plumbers suppliers as they should be cheaper.Norn Iron Club member No 3530
