My daughter wants to leave school and join the local college. I get full tax credits for her and need to know how many hours qualify her as a full time student so I don't lose my tax credits

There are many ways for a household to increase its income and decrease its expenses other than passively receive tax credits. Are things just generally tight or are you in debt?
At some stage in the future, your child/children will cease to be considered dependents and you will lose child benefit and child tax credits, plus potentially have reductions in other means tested benefits.
Also, perhaps its better if your daughter selects a course that fulfills her ambitions and intended career path rather than suits her mothers finances.0 -
All courses will be designated full or part time. Check with the college which type she'll be doing.0

I do work 22 hrs a week, but as a single parent with a mortgage to pay it gives me a little more time to try to find a better paid job0

I think people are p1ssed off with the previous Government for bringing in a benefit system that encourages people to either not work at all or just enough hours to be "entitled"........In fact to rely on the state rather than ourselves.......Not a dig at you personally...........
Good luck with finding that better paid job...Are there any college courses that might give you that extra qualification that makes you just stand out from the rest?.......0
