Changing address and benefits

Hi,
My daughter is moving out of our home to her own flat. She is on IS and gets CTC. Obviously she needs to change her address with them.
Does anyone know if there would be a break in payments or whether they will continue the same? (Not quite sure how to word this!)
Thanks.

They will continue the same unless of course she gets these benefits paid via a giro cheque.*SIGH*

If your daughter is liable to make payments of rent and/or council tax, she will normally be entitled to Housing Benefit / Council Tax Benefit respectively.
HB/CTB should be claimed as soon as possible - a delay *may* result in loss of benefit. Although the law allows HB/CTB to be claimed via the DWP / Jobcentre, I would strongly advise contacting the relevant local council's benefits section in order to claim HB/CTB.
One other thing that crosses my mind. If your daughter moves in AFTER the date of liability commences, there are only limited circumstances in which HB can be paid for the period of non-occupancy. Therefore, it will be best if she moves in on the day the tenancy starts.0
