Cheapest way to study ECDL Advanced?

circuit

I have just started a computing degree as a mature student, and have entered at Level 2 due to a lot of previous experience. As such, I'd like to do the ECDL Advanced as well, and I assume I'd be OK to start it without paying for some of the training, due to my experience.
Does anyone have any experience of studying this online?
I can find lots of details for ECDL but not much for Advanced.
beginners.co.uk offer unlimited access to all courses for £99 a year, which is actually good value, but they only provide internal examinations. You have to arrange the 'real' exams yourself, and at extra cost (£30 each i think, and there are a few of them).
Has anyone used Beginners? Is it a good enough way to get hold of the course materials and do the lessons before you take the real exams?

I heard pitman training are quite cheap, my mate used em and he says they were great, and do ECDL, Microsoft Office Specialist and more."There are two groups of people in the world:
Those who can be categorized into one of two
groups of people, and those who can't..."
I am sure than you can't be sure of anything apart from the fact that this statement is true.0 -
Make sure that it's worth getting the ECDL at all - I get the impression that it'll be made redundant for a lot of positions by the computing degree.0

I don't know if it's relevant at all unis, but ours certainly do ECDL here - we get reduced rates obviously. maybe it's worth asking your uni IT department if they do something similar0

Hi there,
I am doing the first ECDL for free, through the the IT for All intiative.
I have been told that ECDL Advanced might be available when I finish this (Whilst Funding lasts).
It makes a refreshing change studying something without any cost (apart from the book)
Certainly worth speaking to your local College or googlewacking IT for All and your area and see who to contact.
I have noticed that there are many providers charging for courses when there are ways and means of getting them free
good luck0
