A few days ago I noticed quite a few returned emails as undeliverable. On further inspection these were emails I had not sent out.
They seem to contain a link to some site called great witchery and these emails seem to be sent each time I logged into my hotmail account.
I scanned with updated versions of avast and malawarebytes as well as check I had updated all IE patches. Nothing was picked up through the scanning.
All my other email accounts seem unaffected.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Either some one has hacked your Hotmail a/c or they are spoofing your email address. Are the emails in your Sent folder?-if so it has been hacked. However that is unlikely, as then you'd probably not be able to access it, as the password would have been changed. Suggest that you change the password anyway as a precaution.
If it's been spoofed then don't worry, there's nothing you can do about it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

thanks. yes i changed my password yesterday and I have seen any further sign of activity. Any hacking would be remotely done as Im sole user of this computer. on the returned list there is a list of my contacts in the cc field.
I can see the emails in my sent folder.
Im concerned about my online bank accounts and other email accounts."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
I wasn't suggesting that your actual PC had been compromised, just that someone possibly hacked your Hotmail a/c, which can be done from anywhere. If you can still access it that's unlikely. But by all means change your bank and other passwords to give added security.
Spoofing is done by spambots, which harvest valid email addresses in order to send spam. Many of the sender addresses they generate are invalid and so the spam bounces back to you. You'll probably get a few batches and then it will drop away.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

thanks for your help. could something be recording my keystrokes?"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
Yes, but that is nothing to do with hacking Hotmail remotely. How secure is your password?
As already advised, if there is nothing in your Sent folder then the emails aren't coming from your account.
You have a good AV installed so you're doingeverythig you need to maintain your securityNo free lunch, and no free laptop0
