Evening all
Trying to print something back to back and need it to line up on both sides yet no matter what I do with the margins it's not coming out like I need it too.
I accidentally forgot to flip the paper the second time I did it and it was all lined up properly, just over-lapped:o
How do I get the lines on the front to match the lines on the back in Microsoft word 2007?:o
TIA:T

if you are starting from the same header point, then it should line up
do you have a 'section' or 'page' break between the two sheets in your doc, or does the text just wrap to the next page? i find using a section break, gives a cleaner starting point
or the problem could be with the feed on your printer

I've got two separate documents, rather than two pages if you understand what I'm on about?
I'm not sure about it being a problem with the printer feed as like I said when I forgot to turn it over to print on the back it all lined up properlySealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

could have just been a fluke that it lined up, when you didnt turn the paper over
if all margins on both docs are the same, then there isnt any reason why it shouldnt be lining up, so the fault must lie with the print feed - why not just change the margins on the back page, to eradicate the problem

What can I do with the print feed then if it is a problem with that? How can I change that?Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

firstly i would print a test page via the printer (use the buttons on the printer to print this - not PC) on both sides if the paper. This checks that the page will align up without software interference and the paperfeed is set to allow this.
If it is a paperfeed issue, beside all the stops and paper holders are pushed tight, or set for a4, then there is very little you can do as it is more mechanical, but you may be able to alter margins and headings on alternate pages, but you must really be desperate to do this
then try dummy pages in write
On the more expensive page processors, and sometimes printer settings, besides margins, there are other offset features like gutters, bindings, page rotation and print orders etc that can throw a page out of whack to allow binding or the folding of paper0 -
This is called " duplex printing " and some printers will do this automatically, so you might want to check your printer settings to see if its an option.0

The only problem is nomoreheroes is that the back and the front must be properly lined up.....and at the minute it's not. I printed a test page like sharkie suggested and the images on both sides were miles away form each other!Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

Some printers have a central expandable paper guide. others have just a leaver on the side. Others have a tray that you put paper in, and some of the trays are adjustable or have a dial/a4 leaver/adjustable internal tray guides. Somtime the a4 adjustment is not on the inside, but outside. other times it is a solid a4 tray with no adjustment
you seem tobe able to fathom out he workings of the printer, however next time put the make and model number down too as other may have options that you have overlooked0 -
We have a HP F2480 printer if that helps?Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -
