Hi - can someone please tell me if this is a good deal. also how do you rate the processor and laptop. Total 887 with 3 years warranty and 6 months interrest free (£150pm).

I've not been keeping up to date with laptop prices, but that one seems a bit pricey to me. That said you do get quite a bit of kit with it.

If I were buying a laptop I'd buy myself a copy of ComputerShopper and bone up! They usually have some good deals and advice. The main thing is to buy online and stay well clear of places like PC World... stamping down on prices my ar**!

I dont plan to play games, but use it for general use, excel, power point etc

bearing in mind what you plan to use it for, the spec will more than suffice, although the one you posted is a very good machine, it is one of the older BXs and performance wise is no better than the new FS from the looks of things

For that price you can get a new dual core notebook with far better specs. Sonys are overpriced IMHO!

ahh but the screens are the best ever, says he looking at a 17" running at 1920 x 1200
