Booking with Hotels.com

Can anyone advise when payment is taken from credit card. Looking to book for next July but it isnt apparent from site when the company actually take the payment. I know it is one of those companies that you can cancel up until the last few days and not loose money - this made me think that payment therefore wasnt taken until arrival at hotel but now I am not so sure!

Havent booked with them but have booked with Otel.com who i think (but am not positive) are a sister company of hotels.com, and my hotel was also no fee up to 3 days before arrival but the money is taken as soon as you book, unless they give you an option of paying a deposit then the rest by a certain date, as its for next year.

i would be cant find a website for them - Flatotel in Benalmadena - only reasonably priced place i could find in that area - we have 3 children and that rules the majority of places out.

Booking terms:

ESERVATION, CONFIRMATION, AND PAYMENT CONDITIONSIn July and august the minimum stay is 7 nights, check-in and check-out on Saturday.
Other arrival & departure dates are possible in standard or low season, the minimum stay being four days.
To confirm your reservation, you will be asked to pay in advance a 50% of the reserve (via bank transfer).
If the transfer is not paid in time, the company reserves the right to cancel the booking request without previous warning.
SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Electricity, water, gas, initial and final cleaning.
EXTRAS (Euros/week)
Cot: 22 Euros/week
Baby chair: 22 Euros/week
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Lodging keys will be collected, at the address indicated in the confirmation letter, between 9:30 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 19:00 hrs Monday to Saturdays in July and August. In low season Saturday nights will be closed.
When arriving at different time, please let us know a week before arrival.
Departures until 10:00 hrs.
CANCELLATION OF THE CONTRACT BY THE CLIENT
In case of a booking cancellation the client must pay the following fees:

• 30 days before arrival 10% of the reserve.
• Between 30 and 7 days before arrival 50%.
• Less than 7 days, 100%.

If the client leaves voluntarily before the end of his stay there will be no credits.
CHANGES BY THE COMPANY
In case the accommodation could not be occupied because of unforeseen reasons, not attributable to the company, the company has the right to substitute the original accommodation by other with the same or superior characteristics, without any additional payment.
DEPOSIT
There is a breakage deposit of 120 € for apartmens and 300 € for villas, that must be paid when collecting the keys. The deposit will be refunded on departure in case there are no breakages.
PRIVACY POLICY
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. In agreement of the Organic Law 15/1999 of December 13th on the Protection of Personal Data ("LOPD"), we inform you that your personal information will be held within the company’s database, and used for administrational purposes connected with our business activities. As a customer you have the right to access, change, cancel and oppose any of your personal information.

Thanks so much for link ...... but seems to be about £400 more expensive than through hotels.com plus hotel only allows saturday check in july/aug. We are going in july and probably wednesday to wednesday as that is the cheapest flights out of belfast ...... this idea of booking flights and hotel separate not as easy as i though :=(

Bookings .com only take your card as a reservation and you pay when you check out !
