replacement modem

in Techie Stuff
due to on going problems my isp are going to replace my modem with a better quality one and have asked me if my computer has a ethernet (network) port, but I am not sure if or how I can tell, at the moment my present one plugs into a usb socket.

Look on the back of your computer. An Ethernet port is like a telephone socket, only slightly bigger. See this picture - http://ncsudesign.org/content/images/it/walljack/plug2.gif
Or look at Network Adapters in Device Manager.0 -
if you could supply more information regarding what it is you have then perhaps we could work out what the motherboard is and from there do a search on your particular motherboard.
