Have a look at this link, looks like the coop card will now work at Tesco pay at the pump!

Just wish the tesco's was closer to me :( Only real large supermarket on my way to and from work and social traveling around is ASDA's im afraid.
Barclays should take you on. Co op Visa debit only works in chip and pin machines which physically contact the bank at the time of purchase, pay at the pump doesn`t do that. The petrol sounds cheap, can you draw cash out and pay at the till?? Fuel is around £1.19 where I am

Hey Geoff, am I right in thinking that Barclays don't offer online banking with their basic account?

I went to Barclays the day after my BR and they do offer online and telephone banking on their basic account. They signed me up for online banking on the day I applied for the account.

The only downside was it took 3 weeks to actually get the account.

When did you go BR scp? As I have seen that sometimes Br's get to keep the online and telephone banking with Barclays until Barclays realise that the person is BR then they remove it pretty sharpish!
  • Get yourself a prepayment debit card. (Information on other parts of this site). O2 are brilliant (need an o2 phone or sim card...which you can get free), as they don't charge you for any top ups or transactions (all free). x

They do not offer on line banking whilst BR, you may have it for a while but in the majority of cases your access will be revoked. There have been a couple of cases where they have slipped through the net but it is very very rare that this happens.
