midnightraven - it seems Scrooge is alive and well then? Talk about bah humbug! I'd have been tempted to say 'it's just as well I didn't give him the reindeer !!!!!! then, isn't it?' lol Goodness me, aren't some people a bit uptight? I have 4 boys, and I can't say that they've spent time talking about much else over the years.

I'm at that stage now where my next makes have to be last minute ones; mince pies, fudge & truffles. I have found a couple of truffle & fudge recipes that can be frozen, but I've filled the freezer with food for Christmas! I've still got to do my pots of gold, what else has everyone else put in their's apart from ferrero rocher & coins? I was thinking maybe gold bars, and twix?

I bought a couple of cyclamen's from the garden centre for just over £1 this week, and some terracotta pots for about 50p, and will paint those in a Christmassy design to go in my hampers too. Over the w/end I'll be assembling my 1st hamper for delivery on Monday, so will take pictures to show how it turned out in the end. I also want to put together my christmas eve hamper for my 2 youngest boys to have... PJ's, DVD's, snuggly teddy & hot choc is going into their's... does anyone else do this? What else do you include?
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Sarah, they all look lovely! I love the lattice board, may have to pinch your idea ;)

Not been much on the crafting threads during the year this year but am loving looking at everything. Just put the finishing labels on my reindeer poop etc. I took a week off to make/finish the remaining bits and pieces, but am back at work tonight :( Hopefully snow permitting i'll make it home in the morning to continue :D

sarah - love your makes -lattice board is great:T
Think I'll have a go at them next year..........must find something a bit different to what I've been doing.

midnight - sacks are brilliant:T I used to do similar for my kids when they were younger and all their presents went in them (even did one for OH one year..............lol)

Not done great deal today apart from ''Pint of Socks'' labels so now box for lad we used to foster is all done all bar tying it up with some ribbon.
Then made a card for him and one for my friend (thought I'd done them all till I double checked !)
Can't see me doing much more in the way of crafting stuff now till after christmas........I'm now having to wear ''delia'' hat and pretend I know what I'm doing in the kitchen................lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

When I need images to use for painting/decorating pots etc I like to use this site .. http://www.decoart.com/cgi-bin/Projects.cgi
You can search by season or other ideas, free patterns which you can print out and use. Some of the patterns would also work with applique

My Xmas Eve hampers are pretty much the same - DVD, PJs, cuddly toy, snowman soup & mugs, sticker books/colouring books, cookie making kit (for Santas treat!), and reindeer snacks.

soooo excited now... less than a week to go :)

I'm up to date with makes - just my last minute makes to do next week now (shortbread, fudge, truffles) and transfer the Rumtopf into jars :D

wow everyone has been so busy everything looks great!! I love the boards!
I've had so much mither with my makes and everything has been scaled back to a sock monkey and some Christmas biscuits for each of my friends - after such high hopes, I'll try and be more adventurous and prepared next year!
Rather impressed with my first attempt at a sock monkey, if I do say so myself, I'll try and post it later :)

Really looking forward to exchanging gifts with my friends!

p.s. Esmer I LOVE your blog! The cookie recipe is great, my cookies are normally too 'cakey' but the recipe is fab!!

Been busy making and baking today with my little girl, while I was in the kitchen I thought I'd check on my Rumtopf and put it in jars for Christmas gifts :)

They've only been 'stewing' for 2 months, so could do with another 4 weeks really (depends on how sweet you like it!), but I'll pop some instructions on the labels so the recipients know to wait a bit longer :p

It's delicious over ice-cream, or waffles, or just eaten on it's own!!!

I started a bit late with it this year so I missed out on putting strawberries and cherries in this time.
