  • It would depend on why they want a refund?

If its damaged then why havent they contacted you sooner?
If its not what thety wanted then why did they buy it?

Its all too easy to copy DVD's, so I would say No.

Have they left feedback, and how did they pay? (Paypal charge back?)

  • I have a seller wanting compensation for a game, he claims to be damaged but cannot take pictures or send back for refund.

I normally state that a DVD plays correctly on my equipment, and that I cannot give a refund if it is incompatible with theirs. The fact that they have had it a week sounds suspicious to me. Could you email them for details of exactly what the problem is? I.e. will it not play at all or is the picture/sound distorted.

Justpaper - as mentioned by jasons it is so easy to copy DVD's these days, you could ask them to send it back to you and their own cost and if it turns out it's faulty you will refund

EDIT - I think ebay give 7 days for you to reply to the dispute then maybe a further 7 days before they decide on the outcome, out of interest what was the DVD as is it something they could make money from if it was a rare or current release

USER051105 - I would tell the buyer that for you to offer compensation you need "proof" that the game is damaged and either require photos or for the game to be returned to you for inspection as you wont refund on their word.
  • its a very sort after dvd boxset,. im sure having a copy of the whole boxset is very profitable,. buyer is saying the fault with the dvds are that some skip and jump,. which they didnt on my dvdplayer,. and i havnt got a return policy so is that the end of it or is ebay going too start some thing up,. i never had a return problem myself before,. ebay help section just states if i stated a Return Policy i should say the time frame and if its a part or full refund bla bla,.

anyways buyer stated they can give the item back with-in 30days,. as its ebay rules ( if ebay was selling the dvds then fair play but there not i am and i dont have a return policy and after 7days i sure dont,..) is my buyer on crack ?

i think my buyer just burnt a copy and now is trying to just get the money back,. instead of selling the original box set on,. due to damaging of some sort when copying them,..

I would say to the buyer you want the DVD's back straight away and after you have tested them if you find a fault you will give them the money back via the original method of payment but if the goods turn out to be in working order you will send them back and no refund will be given
  • Skipping and jumping is usually the players fault, unles the discs are badly scratched. Sounds like he needs a new dvd player!

Tell him to get on his bike, he's had it a week allready.

Is theres such thing as late?...I mean the buyer could only just have opened it and tested it so if its not working then you should ask them to return it to you for a replacement.
