Options
just browsing as i need a decent desktop, and i have stumbled across this one from aldi, i would like peoples opinion of it, does it seem ok, is the price about right, i will only beusing it for browsing internet, listening to music, playig the odd game, using microsoft office etc, what is amd like, as i have only ever use intel, is there much difference?, or if this is not as good a deal as it looks, could somebody point me in the direction of a decent one, i have only got a budget of around £500 but the less it is the better, i would not mind one with a blu ray player, but i guess eith my budget that is going to be stretching it a bit, any help will be gratefully recieved.

TIA
Dave

  • Absolutely fine for what you want.
i have used AMD for 10 years its like Nike and Adidas, one American one German, one 2 times the cost of the other.

Tech detail very long and boring but you wont do much better for the price without going to an internet specialist with 4" glasses and a masters in patronizing.

It seems good value. At that price point it's swings and roundabouts with the specs you get. You may find a system with an Intel i3 CPU at the same price point but it'll only have a 500GB hard disk for example.

Performance wise the average PC user won't see or feel a lot difference between an AMD Quad core and an Intel i3/5. It's only when you get into really serious gaming rigs that performance becomes a real issue.

Thanks for the replies so far, what about this one from ebuyer, it is only £5 more roughly, obviously it hs more ram and memory, but do the processor and graphics stand up to the aldi one, as i said i will only be using for general stuff and the odd game.

    Many Thanks
