I loved the whoopsies in there (18 mile round trip to go again though...I was just passing after a MS assignment)...

You guys that live near shops are so lucky to have the chance of whoopsies. I even got 6 huge sausages ready cooked and hot for tea for 27p :D

So I did my food shop... £42.22 which was a split shop with Mr T and Mrs S!!

I did go over because Mr T has Hovis Bread at 75p a loaf and I normally buy Mr T own brand at 74p a loaf!!!

So I bought 8 loaves... which will last 2 weeks (3 if I prey hard enough)

Then I took my cat to the vet (she hurt herself) and they stung me for £45

Sorry to hear about your cat :( hope she feels better soon

Farmfoods do 2 hovis loaves for £1 if there is one near you :D

NSD for me today and DH came home with bag of freebies :D

Thank you! Unfortunately they are not quite sure what's wrong... and the vet's probing has made it much worse!! Vet said if she doesn't get better within a week of taking medication and house arrest it's X-Rays next!!!

All I can say is... THANK GOODNESS FOR INSURANCE!!

Ref: Farmfoods... I think I know where one is... a bit of a drive though... but another shopper told me about another shop in the same area which sells cheap toiletries... may have to consider the savings v's petrol! Thanks!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Small grocery spend of £6.10 for me today

This morning was Mr A for two bags of frozen veg (and the extra pairs of trousers I needed for work)
After work I nipped to A!di - went in for some re-chargeable batteries (not GC), and came out with those plus a pack of 2 Whoopsied (30% off) Cinnamon Swirls
Went back to work (Mr M) for final reductions - got a small pot of clotted cream (full price - planning to make myself some scones over te weekend), plus 2 tubs of pate (one roasted mushroom, one chick pea & pepper) from chilled mark-downs and a cooked chicken (half price from the deli - that's my lunch time sandwiches sorted for the week :))

We have to have loads of bananas and apples in as it keeps the kids from total meltdown between 6am and 7am (or 4.30 as it was this morning - ugh!) so sometimes we end up getting them from sbury local = pricey. Dh spent £3.73 on a bag of apples and a bag of bananas tonight  looks like we'll have to go foraging again his weekend (for apples not bananas!)

On the plus side, I finally rubber chickened the last of the roast tonight with med vegetables. It was v tasty and stopped us getting a takeaway.:)

edit: this makes it look like I'm blaming dh for spending, I'm not (well not entirely) I prob would have had to spend as much in there as those local sbury / tesco express are v expensive.

So we finally succumbed to a supermarket shop - £46.94 at Mr T though had a £7.50 off voucher for spending over £50 (jealous that MrsRogers had £12 off vouchers!). It was triggered by needing more yeast for breadmaking, of all things.

I've decided to start using Amy Dacyczyn's pantry principle to get our grocery bills down, with the variety coming from our fruit and veg and meat boxes we have delivered, so I've been writing a list of all the basics we need. We've ran out of gravy powder but I'm going to try making my own mix from a recipe I found to get our store cupboard as basic as possible.

I'm a bit disappointed I haven't managed more NSDs, especially as I've been stuck at home in the day looking after my baby who has chicken pox. It's amazing how easy it is to spend money. I'm targeting one on Monday now.
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!
