I completely lost the plot with the GC in August- moving house, bdays, numerous guests and days out do not a thrifty month make.
So I must stick to September. £280 is my absolute maximum, starting 2m as it's pay day. Hopefully will come in under, though it's my bday in Sept and we have people visiting but it has to be done!
Good luck all!Mortgage£148,725 Student loan£13,050 HSBC loan£12,221

Just thought I'd post a quick word of warning for anyone who shops in Mr M, but wants to avoid anything to do with 'the December event' until much closer to the time.......
You're going to have to avoid the bakery section like the plague, as we're due to start selling Mince Pies next week
(my manager mentioned to me this afternoon the stuff has had to be ordered today to arrive at the weekend, as the paperwork says they're to be available for sale from Monday)Cheryl0 -

Afternoon everyone :j
My month has got off to a good start - Been to Mr T and Mr A and spent £163.91 already  Now that is for everything we should need for the month with the exception of fresh stuff.
I'm trying a new tactic to keep me out of the supermarkets. As scary as my spend looks, that should be the bulk of it done and I won't need to go near a supermarket again this month. I am going to buy my fruit and veg from the local greengrocers and the market in town, and milk I will hopefully get DD to pick up on her way home from work. She can go in a shop and not spend a fortune - I can't
Wish me luck:xmastree:Merry Christmas0 -
Thanks Winged One. I have tried downgrading brands on a couple of things before but he says he can taste the difference so I think i'll just have to give in for now on that one. I am definitely going to try freezing more as at present our freezer only really has oven chips, ice cream and a bit of frozen veg in.
Hi Pots
I had the same thing with my OH until I swapped the packaging on a couple of things to double check he really could tell the difference
Guess what ... it was all in his head and he couldnt:T:rotfl::T

I was quite lazy this morning and kept pressing snooze on my alarm, and therefore didn't have enough time to make a sandwich for work, so had to spend £1.35 at MrT.
After work I thought I'd pop into the co-op to get some milk and chicken (I've been having cravings for roast chicken and finally gave in) and spent another £4.49. I didn't manage to get any milk as they had yet again run out of semi-skimmed milk and I can't bring myself to drink skimmed or full milk. Luckily have enough to last until tomorrow, but it's still annoying! I just wish I had enough room in my freezer for milk, but I have the tinest freezer everMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000
