npower DD - incompetance or scam?
I'll leave you to decided which:cool:
In line with my recent dealings with npower I have also had cause for alarm with my latest bill/statement concerning my DD amount & the changes they wanted to make.
I had an estimated bill from them at the begining of August. As this was estimated I submitted meter readings online and received an updated bill (unlike the recent one I posted about this was correct).
However, it was the DD payments they wanted to take that raised my hackles.
On the estimated bill they provided the predicted energy usage for the next 12 months to arrive at a yearly figure for which they wanted to take so much per month. Based on the figures they provided on the statement prediction, this DD amount was too high and would have resulted in me building a surplus of around £220 over the 12 months.
When the amended bill & prediction arrived it showed a 3% reduction in the predicted energy use for the coming 12 months (in line with my actual meter readings). The problem was they now wanted to take an additional 4% in DD payments!
Needless to add, I have been in touch with them and a significant reduction in monthly DD's to cover the cost (and no more!) is the result.
If the transfer to the new supplier could happen overnight I would be a happy chappy and wave them goodbye:p
