P&P question

Hi

I have just sold a ps2 with 12 games on ebay but I'm abit unsure how i should be packaging and posting it.
  • should I box all the items together?
  • Should i box the games separate(As in pack ps2 in 1 box and all the games in a separate box)?
  • which delivery service is the best?

Sorry these are really stupid questions but I've never sold anything this big and would be happy for any advice of anyone.

Thanks in advance!

If it was me I would wrap them seperately but all in the same bos...if you see what i mean lol. Wrap them all seperately in bubble wrap or whatever you are going to use and then put them in 1 box, if needed add some polystyrene chips or something similar :)

Check your weights as well as it might be too heavy for special delivery and you may have to send it as a parcel. If you do send as a parcel make sure you have sufficient insurance in case it doesn't arrive as there is no tracking number suitable for paypal on parcels.

What did you put in the listing about postal services?

Tracking number on paypal for parcels? sorry I dont really understand what you mean.

I just put it down as beng sent as a parcel by royal mail. But I'm now worrying that it might be an expensive option. I guess the best thing would be to weigh it fully boxed and then have a look at the prices.
  • It's better to find out the cost of postage before listing. Hope you haven't under-charged.

You should be able to package it all in one box and send via a courier i.e. parcel2go as I think they charge about £8.75 and you can get a code for an extra £1 off as well

However you send it make sure that is adequately insured by the carrier.

If a buyer claims non receipt then paypal will refund his money unless item can be shown to be delivered. Standard parcels do not have that facility. Therefore you need to insure that if you use parcels you take enough insurance to cover yourself against loss so that in the event of a claim you can refund the buyer and reclaim your losses from the Royal Mail.

If you have said you are sending it as a RM parcel then best to stick with that. A few months back I bought a couple of sellers both of whom quoted for RM postage. However after I paid I got a thank you email from both explaining the rules on my delivery as they were using a courier. On one of them I had to choose a date from three offered on which I would guarantee to be home all day to receive the parcel as that courier only made one delivery attempt, if I did not receive th eparcel then I would have to collect it from a depot 20+ miles away. The second seller used a different courier who had regulations about where parcels could be left and with whom and how much risk I accepted for loss..if I had known those seller used a courier I would not have bid. I bid because they quoted Royal Mail (Special in one case recorded in the other) and I can easily get to my sorting office to collect if I am not in when they deliver.
