Cahoot / Santander Response

I sent off a PPI questionnaire to Santander for the missell on a Cahoot loan.

We received a letter back today, but they are asking us to call them to "ensure we have understood all of the concerns you have raised".

Is this normal? Obviously we would rather that everything is dealt with in writing, so not sure how to handle this one?

Thanks

    Hi there

If you want to keep everything in writing then I would do so, personally I would.;)

You could write back and tell them you will "only" accept written correspondence.
But if you do decide to ring, make sure they don't try fobbing you off, and of course you do not have to agree with anything they say to you verbally.

    Good luck.

I would say to them that you will only communicate in writing in case you have to take this further with FOS.
  • OK thanks. We will write back to them then saying that. We are more than a little wary of dealing with this on the phone.

    Thanks.

Just a quick question, should I send all correspondence by recorded delivery? I sent the questionnaire recorded, but not sure on this letter to just ask for everything in writing.
    Thanks

  • Thanks for advising me to send EVERYTHING by recorded. While we were sat here thinking that Santander were taking a while to respond (they were very prompt first time), a quick check with Post Office found that it hasnt even been delivered signed for yet. Lost in the post somewhere I guess

Well, at least I know and can get another copy sent off prompto!! Definitely advise everyone to send it recorded, or even special delivery as recorded isnt guaranteed (but its more expensive of course).
