Bus Lane and Taxi question

Hi

I drive a London Black Cab as a private vehicle, I am not a licensed taxi driver and therefore do not have the plate on the back licensed ones have.

Can I use the bus lanes in London? My dad (who is a real taxi driver) says he isn't sure so I always stayed in normal lanes but I'm quite curious if anyone knows if I can or can't for sure.

Stephen Fry and Noel Edmonds both have Cabs and I'm sure I read somewhere they used the bus lanes.

Does anyone know? I will possibly love you forever :D

  • I'm pretty sure its not allowed unless you are a proper taxi.

Noel Edmonds got fined in Bristol so I would guess its illegal unless you have a license:cool:

It is illegal as you're driving a private car.

On the plus side any cctv operator would probably ignore "another" black cab in a bus lane......depends how observant he/she is!

Worth the risk?? It's your cash.......

No, you're not allowed to use the bus lane. Obvious, really, when you think about it - but it must be very tempting.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
