How to use silicone baking cases?

    Hi silligilli,the strange thing was that the recipe I used,which was fat-free,worked better in the silicone than the paper cases.

    Did you get a yoghurt-maker BTW?I remember you mentioning it once before.


    But anyway:RESULT!!!

    I made the cinnamon topped and blueberry muffins,but using the paper cases,and they've turned out well.I did slightly burn the topping,but I can live with that.

    I don't think I'll try the eggless one again.

    The thing that puts me off the silicone,is that they say it reduces the baking time.I'm never sure of how long to leave things in.
    I've got a medium,round one too,that I've never used.

    So,I'm going to try cinnamon topped blueberry muffins,which uses egg.I've only got frozen blueberries,but I don't suppose that matters.
    One more question:how high do you fill the pastry cases?I only filled them 2/3rds,so didn't get a 'muffin top'.Is it alright to fill to the top or almost?

    I always fill mine up to the top to get the dome shape - some recommend if you use a muffin tray to over fill, but cases to the top. What did you use in place of the egg? Was going to try the eggless muffins using apple sauce myself but am worried now:rotfl:

    Hi,the eggless muffin had apple and banana to replace the egg.I found at www.allrecipes.co.uk ,it's called 'low-fat apple,banana and cinnamon muffins'.I decided to try it as I had some mushy bananas to use up.I don't know quite where I went wrong.

    The second lot I made looked like proper muffins,which was a bonus!
