Carrots
Right then ... what on earth did I do to my carrots?! Last year they were mostly perfectly shapped but tiny. This year ... well see for yourself!

Probably the soil was richer in nutrients this year causing them to fang. They taste just as nice but are a fiddle to prepare. Also possible that the soil is a bit stony which has a similar effect.
Not sure above the yellow ones with fingers though.0 -
You've got a few problems there, as said above they have forked for some reason, even hard patches of clay soil can cause this, as can stones. I don't find it happens to me with too many nutrients, but I'm not saying it can't. If you fed them it may happen.
You've also got carrot fly in at least the middle one.
Lastly, the middle one has split, caused by uneven watering, or more likely recent downpours.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
