Nursing agapanthus over winter

I took advantage of a bargaintastic offer a few months ago and got 18 tiny agapathus plants which I've been tending over the "summer" months.

They are too tiny (maybe about 5 or 6 inches big now) to plant out until next spring I think and wonder what the best way of nursing them through the forthcomng almost certain to be harsh winter.

I'm not sure whether to get one of those cheap plastic greenhouses and keep them off the floor or get a cold frame. It's not really an option to get anything more permanent as we're hopefully moving in the new year, but would welcome any ideas.

I love agapanthus and would be gutted to lose any.

Many thanks

My sister leaves hers out over winter, but she lives in the south & has an enclosed very sheltered garden. I live much further north & take all mine into an unheated greenhouse. I've never lost one, despite the very cold weather last winter when all my pelargoniums, also in the greenhouse, died. I personally wouldn't risk leaving them outside. Mine are all in containers anyway as they seem to like their roots being a bit restricted. I think they look lovely in borders, but when I've tried planting them out, they've never done as well.
