Audi TT question. Do the leather interiors have heated seats as standard?? :)

Hi all,

Firstly, I hope this is the right board to ask this question.

A good friend of mine is on the look out for a used Audi TT (old model) and she is adament on getting one with a leather interior with heated seats. She has been told by a work collegue that if she goes for one with a leather interior it will come with heated seats as standard, though this conflicts with her brothers view that if she goes for a leather interior it doesnt neccessarily come with heated seats. So whos right?

I've tried to find out the info on the web but cant seem to find the answer anywhere. Does a TT with a leather interior have the front seats heated as standard, or is this an option?

Really hope someone in the know can help us with this one. Has caused abit of friction between the car buffs. (Pathetic I know! :rotfl:)

Many thanks in advance

Sal :T

You may find the answer at https://www.honestjohn.co.uk - afraid I cant help myself.

Alternatively, have a look on the internet for Audi TT Owners Clubs.
  • Heated seats are always an option on Audis - even if you have the leather. On my last Audi I had to pay £1200 extra for leather, then another £250 for heated seats. She is right to want heated seats with leather as they can be very cold in the winter on a frosty mornning, but she does need to check that they work well, as they are difficult / impossible to repair, and can be damaged very easily by kneeling on teh seats to reach in teh back etc.
  • Just to add follow this link to the parkers website and it will tell you the spec of each model and the options available. You will see that leather and heated seats are two different costs.

  • Hi guys, big thanks for the responses.

Looks like heated seats aint standard with a leather interior then and her brother is wrong. He says they were standard as every audi TT has the dash made to include the heated switches (or something along those lines?)

From looking at various pics of the audi tt interior (link below) can I ask what happens to the heated seat switches on the dash? They are the ones shown on the left and right outer edge. I cant find any interior shots of a dash without these heated seat buttons.

Are they simply blanked in or is this switch area just not there to begin with on some TT models?

Being serious for a moment, when car makers have an option, they generally make it very easy for them to fit. So most of the wiring is probably there already, so you could buy a non heated seat model and then source the heated seats and switches from a crashed car at a scrappy on the internerd or Ebay etc.

  • In the picture you linked to the button one in from the right is a blanking plate - it has no function. I expect that they would just fit these in the heated seat switches if not fitted.

My friend had an imported TT about 5 years ago. He had heated leather seats, also had the xenon headlights which were not standard. The button on the dash pops out when pressed, you can then turn to different settings and push back in.

Its not big and its not clever.
  • so i guess if heated seats arent standard on leather interiors then these buttons are blanked in with plastic, must look well naff, surely not on a car of this price??
