Bad Stuff, Good stuff

Triker

Just thought I'd do a little update on how things are in the Triker household.
Bad Stuff,
sigh, overdrawn again, found out today that a cheque to pay for a school trip has only just drawn and put me right over, bum.Due to my reckless attitude by not properly checking my account I had thought it had already gone out.
Have no money to pay for the phone bill, red letter one.
DD's birthday on weekend and not really got her anything as yet.
Got to get through next week with nowt.
I have no savings.
Can't put smileys on as at work on computer.
Good Stuff,
I am alive.
Last month I had ran out of money by the end of the 1st week after payday, this time it's after the third week so getting there.
I have chrimbo pressies that I can raid for DD's birthday pressie.
I have stuff to sell on ebay.
We have food in the freezer and I have batch cooked as the Old Style bunch have left their mark on me.
I get paid next week.
Today is friday.
I have lost 2lbs in weight so far with the aid of my diet buddy, Sarymclary.
How's everyone else doing?

Triker,
well done. Glad your keeping your spirits up. Not a lot on the bad news front but:
I really need to stick with the budget for the next month, not much room to go mad. Sort out my spending on the GE money card. Alhough its a cash back card I seem to be spending more on it than I would normally do.
Good News: I'm also alive and recovered from a half marathon I did last Sunday and my 2yr old Godson can now say my name . Have been accepted for the M&S CC (i thnk this is good news). My OH has some £2 coins for my piggy bank (but I have to dance for these). Only got £750 left on the b-card, so chipping away at that.
Cheers,
FatJock0 -
Congratulations Fatjock on your half marathon and your godson saying your name, thats lovely news.
I try to be positive but I have to say it's been a very up and down week and today is turning out to be a bit trying to say the least. But hey, tomorrow's another day.
I'm not as devastated as the last time but it'll still cost me in terms of my Natwet fines for going over, but there is nothing I can do at the mo.
Onwards and upwards, Cheers Triker.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Congrats on being able to look at the positives as well as face up to the negatives Triker :T
Very soon you'll be getting through a month without running out of money, little steps like that and you'll get there!

I used to do this all the time. Then I registered for online banking which, frankly, is a bloody revelation to me. I check my account every day, mark it when it's pending and then when it's gone out. It has totally taken the scariness out of my debt because I know exactly what's in there (or not!!)
Previously I used to just put the card in the wall until it stopped putting out (computer says 'no') but now I don't feel worried because I'm keeping an eye on myself in the comfort of my own home

Triker, I love your posts, you're so strong
My goods and bads...
Good -
* Mum got PO card with enough limit to shove all of MBNA debt over (which is good as the 0% on MBNA ends soon)
* It's my birthday soon (get a nice meal out)
Bad -
* My account is "overdrawn" (not litteraly because I've raided savings to float it but it has to be paid back so am minus)
* It's another week until paydayNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
payday seems to be taking an awful long time to come this month - I've had two weddings, two hen nights, daughter's birthday and school trip0

Hiya Dolly,
Jer know I think you may be on to something about this online banking, trouble is I really don't want to stick with Natwest for too long.
Relationships over as far as I'm concerned, I just don't feel that we communicate in the right way, I just don't fancy Nat anymore, too harsh, always thinking about how much money he's taking from me, no communication, I mean Nat doesn't even want to sort it out anymore, frankly I feel used!:rotfl:
Who's a good online bank? I have an account with Smile or rather Grimace, though I don't have my wages put in there.
I do think it's the future, like garlic bread.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

well I'm with Lloyds - their online banking is brilliant, but you might want to avoid one of the big four if you've already had that very pleasant experience0

We too have had a rather "tempestuous" relationship with Nat West for the last 20 years. We have just filed our on-line claim to re-coup unfair bank charges AND at last have changed our bank to Alliance & Leicester - online too! The change over went very smoothly with no effort on our part.DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.
