  • as long as you have the USB cable and its Windows 2000 or later it should detect as a removable drive.

failing that, remove the memory card and plug it into a card reader

Try here for the software you require

Failing that you can buy a memory card reader very cheaply now from most photo/pc retailers.

    Hope this helps

should be a simple case of connecting it to your pc with the supplied USB cable (big at the computer end and small at the Canon end) then switch the camera on in "playback mode", the PC will identify the anon camera as a Storage drive and the microsoft digital photo/scanner software will kick in, allowing you to view or download those pictures or video clips to a folder on your PC. Alternately, if you PC has a smart card reader , as lots now do, just take the memory card from the Canon, slot it in the PC and again it will find it as a mass storage device, then view or transfer as before....hope that makes sense

Or buy a USB card reader.

I also had a Canon powershot til I changed to a minolta...different story....lol....but you don't need to use the canon software, windows xp (which I assume most people are using now) should recognise it as a mass storage device....just drag the files to your desktop.

Get a card reader - faster downloads, no worries about the camera batteries running out during download, no problems with drivers, etc.
