Okay....you old gitDon't call me a boy!

I really don't know what you've said here - other than it clearly isn't goodThe Toshiba in your link isn't terrible, though I don't know why the eBay seller is claiming that it has a 512MB video card. It has 128MB RAM onboard....and something called TurboCache.
How can he claim it's got 512 RAM if it hasn't? Surely he'd get ripped to shreds by people who buy off him who have greater knowledge than me?
Hmmm - not very impressed by that, but we could live with that for nowThere was an 80GB HDD inside, but he has replaced it with a 40GB HDD. That can easily be filled with films and music. Then you have to cough up for a new HDD or an external.
I said that I understood what davester was saying when he said I may have to add more HD space and more RAM.......I didn't say we would be getting/or have the money to get it done immediatelyWhat I don't understand, it that you are advocating buy some old computer for £200(the apparent budget) and then spending more on RAM.
What happened to the strict budget?

Well, 24 hours on I'm still undecided, but I appreciate the input boys

The 512MB graphic card is a little misleading. The Graphics Card had 128MB of its own RAM, and then steals 384MB from your system RAM which you have 1GB in total. So when you turn on the computer Windows will see you have 640MB of RAM. The theft is called turbo cacheSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

£200 is obviously as high as they can go.
I've bought stuff from that site that I don't even need.
The latest laptop is still in the box...as is my Netbook. 0 -

I know that it was stated that the daughter was limited to £200, just thought that if the OP could manage the extra £53 (inc P&P), that MSI would have fitted the bill..
..just tryin' to help
