We had bowls from Easy Florist as our centrepieces and the fish are now happily swimming round in our pond in the gardenOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I think you may find several dead or distressed fish by the end of this. Noise, lights, people getting merry.... will most likely result in bowls being knocked, things put in etc or even more scarily - the fish being taken out! You wouldnt put a hamster in a cage, a dog in a basket etc in this situation and fish are no less important.
If your heart is set on it then I suppose others asking you to reconsider will make no difference, but maybe speak to your guests too, Id be quite upset to have to sit and watch goldfish in the middle of the table and all that may (or may not) happen and would not enjoy a wedding if they had this.0
