Parcelforce stole my parcel!

Hi,

I have been waiting for my parcel for a while and have been checking online with the tracking number given to me by the sender. I checked online last night as the parcel should have arrived by now....It says item delivered/signed at delivery address. However, I have been home all day and there was no knock at my door, nothing has been posted to say parcelforce have attempted delivery.

The strange thing is that on the delivery receipt online under the name of the person's signature it says NOH meaning no one home! I contacted parcelforce this morning and was told that the driver states he delivered the parcel to my house and a lady (myself) signed for it! How can this be? I was home all day and no one came to deliver.......customer service guy then said the driver will have to be interviewed by management and I will be contacted in due course. I asked about why NOH was used on the receipt? He did not want to know or explain!

Please help and advise as to what I should do next? Should I report it to the Police as this is a case of a obtaining goods by fraudalent means by signing.....the signature isnt mine I can't make out what name it is.

  • I would pop into your local police station and ask to speak to the duty inspector, the others on the desk are not officers they ae support workers and in my experience chat !!!!. Also contact the sender of the parcel and inform them as well as i think they have to do the chasing up and its their reponsibility untill you have received it.
  • I had something like this a while ago with a rec del item (DVD Burner) i had waited all day for item but nothing checked on website and told parcel had been signed for and del on xx day at xx time, so i told them it had not been signed for by me and would be able to prove that any sig they had would not be mine as i could prove this by my passport (only used for ID, can't afford to go anywhere) or Credit Card once i had proved i would be happy to send my sig in they looked into it and within 10 days i had a new DVD drive as RM had told retailer it was lost and would compo to them, so just ask for proof of sig and say your happy to provide proof it was not your sig and also ask driver what woman looked like, black, white, asian, fat, skinny, tall short, blonde etc see if it's anywhere near your description.

I'd lay of the police right now, that can come later if you need to, Good luck

So which day was it meant to have been delivered - or which day does the online tracking say that it was delivered?

Did you speak to someone in management about it? If not I would, failing that have you spoken to the company that sent it and told them what has happened and what they are going to do about it - if they wont do anything contact your credit card company for a chargeback

  • Hi all thanks for advise.....just had the delivery and no explanation/apology. This is bad customer services, also checked online and they have removed the old delivery receipt with the bogus signature.

Were they hoping to get away with my parcel or was it a mistake? I will never know......

Certainly, in my opinion, the police wouldnt have been the people to contact and would almost certainly have just told you to let the delivery company to investigate it.

It is inevitable that in any company there are going to be dishonest employees but that is why almost all large companies now have internal fraud departments who spend all their time investigating issues like this. Likewise it is perfectly possible for someone to hit the wrong button on the tracking device or even scan the wrong parcels bar code when delivering someone elses parcel.

The important thing is that you have got your parcel and everything is fine.
