What is it with people dragging old threads back up? Furthermore, why do the originators of these threads only have the one post and never appear again? Are they linked to the site that they are asking about?
Moi, cynical? They got their free advertising I guess.
Also, bidbroo is another on my blacklist. They used to send me 10 free 'tokens' weekly and some of the stuff was going for peanuts on their site (decent SLR's, 360's, PS3's....). Well I saved the free tokens up and put in a huge blanket bid and I was the 'lowest unique bidder' until minutes of the auction close. Ironically, the item that I had bid on never appeared in their 'won' items section.
It's all a scam to get you to bite the bullet and buy 'bids' because you came so close to winning and you're now certain that you can bag it. Of course what you don't account for is the guy in the office that can see what the bids are clicking the button to 'win' the prize right at the moment that the 'competition' finishes.
I stopped receiving emails from Bidbroo after I kept storing up multiple lots of 10 free bids and carpet-bombing some of the low value auctions, wonder why that was....
Me, cynical?Don't even waste your time looking, much less registering regardless of the huge 'bonus' free tokens they promise!
Edit: Bidbroo appears to be dead, although the website still lives there's no ongoing auctions. Point proven really, they've fleeced many and now they've been discovered they will just setup in a new name. Don't fall for this ridiculous scam!0 -
^^ Sorry to drag this up...
I was reading the Help page on Madbid and it's say's something about Bid 4 Free. It works the same way as the normal bidding but it's ....free. But on the site I can't find anything for "free"
I've been lured by someone at work but I guess it is all BS though.January 2011
