clarification needed!

i mentioned in an earlier post that i had appealed capital one's decision not to give me a card(even though i had a guaranteed card with them for a year)

their reply letter to my appeal arrived this morning


in the letter it states
"we will tell you in the front page of our letter whether we may have used information about people who are financially linked to you"

the front page
says

"when we processed your application, we asked the credit reference agencies below (experian and equifax) about you and about people who you may have a financial link with e.g joint bank account mortgage.
the information they gave us was considered in our decision"


dont understand whether they are saying no links
or
they are saying there is someone with a link

i live on my own and have never been financially linked with anyone

have copies of my credit reports dont see anyone elses name mentioned only mine

just wanna clarify before i ring them

Sounds like a standard letter. My rejection letter sounded just like that and I've never had a financial association.

I agree, i think its standard too, they are saying that if there were associations on your file, then they would have considered them too
