Vista Basic: what are its limitations?

I’m seriously considering buying a netbook running Windows Vista Home Basic. If Microsoft won’t “downgrade” it for free to XP, will it be adequate for the following modest tasks?

• Internet access via 3G USB broadband modem
• Web browser windows and word processor up at same time
• BBC iplayer
• Skype video calling
• Webcam IM on MSN

There won't be any photo editing. It'll be powered by a 1.22 Ghz processor but have 2GB of RAM.
Also, what major limitations does it have compared to XP?

The 11.6" AAO 751 (I know it's underpowered, although I've seen the clock speed of the Z520 also quoted as 1.33 Ghz).
