is your friend a full-time student? Do they receive loans and grants?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

full time colledge student no grants etc
enrolled for a 3rd year was getting ema
if they carnt get help she is going to have to forget her 3rd year and go on job seekers which is a shame0 -
If your friend has no income, there won't any change in her partner's benefits. JSA for a couple is much the same amount as JSA for a single person plus EMA.0

friends partner has been kicked out of parental home and has only just applied for job seekers allowance the only house they can find is a 3 bed terrace house which they have been offered but they not sure on what entitlements they will get for eg housing benefit, council tax benefit, she really would like to continue with college so that hopefully she can tell be qualified to the job she wants to do. but if they carnt get help she will have to forgo the 3rd year on go on jobseekers0

as a couple they hope to move into a house she is full tme student and working 4 hours a week he is hoping to get job seekers allowance
will he need to change his claim as he was claiming for himself ? do they need to do a joint claim. what can she claim if any thing
i am very sorry i dont understand how benefits system works as i have never had to claim anything apart from tax credits for my own family, they are stayin on friends sofas at the moment which obviously isnt ideal ad the reason why they are looking for a rental property for themselves0 -
How old is partner?0

friend is 18 ( student) her partner is 19 nearly 200

He will only get funding for rent for a 1 bedflat or shared accommodation - certainly not for a 3 bed house! Even if the friend claims JSA, they would only get funding for 1 bedroom accommodation.0
