I'm curious as to how an inability to actuate the clutch makes a vehicle a death trap.

The clutch still works, but the pedal is loose / broken, so you when you actuate the clutch the pedal moves from side to side knocking into the brake pedal, this to me makes it unsafe.

    Maybe its a driver error...?

Doubtful, but perhaps the nut just behind the steering wheel.

.....and theres me thinking the Fiat Forum was bad :wall:
  • So it's an Abarth? So you have a Grande Punto or a 500 with standard clutch pedals and they are snapping, you would think that there would be a pile of complaints on two popular cars if it was a general problem!

Before the FIAT knocking, there are several manufactuers recently that have had problems with the "clutch pedal falling off".

The Fiesta probably being the worst offender.

Oh I wasnt going to knock, I was about to buy a GP Abarth but got a brand new diesel Bravo Sport for less so went for that instead, had Fiats all my life.

I do suspect there may be some sort of abuse going on here with the pedals as I have never heard of the GP clutch pedals failing.
