DSR and returning goods

Bought something and ordered the wrong one (my fault I know!) so asked the company if I could return it.
In the returns T&C's that I got after I'd asked to return it, I noticed this:
I did get the item with free shipping so they will deduct £3.50 from my refund, plus I will have to pay the postage to return the item to them.
Are they allowed to do this under DSR? I thought they had to cover the outbound postage but I might be mistaken.

No,they can do that if they specify unless the goods are faulty etc..
I am not sure about deducting the £3.50 though. If you don't leap, you'll never know what it is to fly :heartpuls0 -
Basically they should always cover outbound postages costs and the FULL amount should be refunded (including postage).
The can only charge you for return postage if this was made clear prior to the contract being formed (ie T&C's were provided in a durable form - websites dont count).
You're right to always question it. Just because a company have it in their T&C's does not mean its right and certainly cant overrule any rights you have as a consumer. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
