How long after registration does your grant/loan hit your account?

I was just wondering.

  • Hi, I enrolled monday, and still nothing!

Phoned student finance direct and they told me that they had not received anything from uni! Phoned uni and they told me there had been problems and I should receive it at the beginning of next week.

Student finance told me that once they receive confirmation it only usually takes 24 hours
  • Thanks for that. Hopefully it will go in 24 hours after I register then. I register on Tuesday so here's hoping!!

Grants are paid the day that your enrolment is processed electronically and the data is transferred to the SLC. How soon you get the money depends on how quickly your college processes your enrolment. If enrolment is done electronically then it can be the same day. If paper forms are used and someone later enters the data on the system then there there will be a delay of however long it takes for them to do the data processing.
  • I hope it is quick. I have to pay dd's nursery fees so I need the childcare grant to go in quickly!

Best thing is to ask at registration and explain the urgency. Childcare grants are different to student loans and may be individual to your local area/uni.
