I'm usually on the way to work by 5am so this never happens to me!!!:D
    [strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!
  • Quelle surprise they got me again at the weekend - this time in the bath.
They will not accept my payment plan. Get this!!! Because I do not always adhere to the dates but always send the right money or more!
I give up - they can whistle for it now
Terriblesaver - hoping to improve!!! Unsecured debt ... £[STRIKE]57938[/STRIKE] £51453

  • If you can change the number
    Barclaycard 3800

Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

  • just screen the phone calls! everyone who calls my house knows I don't answer the phone until it's rung off and I've dialled 1471

and I don't have debtors calling me - it's people trying to sell me stuff or check that I'm happy with a service or 'just wanted to see if you're interested in xxx right now'

but it works! Anyone genuine (i.e. friends or family) won't withhold their number!

    Hi Everyone :)
    Incredible!
I agree - 1471 & 1571 & caller ID are fantastic protection against phone gremlins like these. I don't think they thought this could be used to avoid these companies!:D We don't have to answer our phones. It's not debt avoidance, just you don't want be put through an interrogation. We seem to forget the fact that we're using the phone - and not the phone using us! And if it is a debt call, I answer once and then say "Please don't call this number again as I require all communications on this matter to be in writing."
The real bonus is when they try to do a Vicky Pollard and say 'Yes but - No but - she said - he said -' And of course, their favourite reply - 'We don't have any record of that call / I can't see that in your records.' At least if it's in writing, you've got hard proof to protect yourself. :p
I think it's a good idea to write a letter to the company (recorded delivery of course) involved and notify them in advance that you want all future communications on the matter in writing.;) Okay - rant over:rolleyes:
    Hope everyone is well today.
    Best wishes.
    Tiff.
