Got home from shopping yesterday feeling very dejected at having spent nearly £150 () on school shoes, gym kit, uniform etc for my two for the new school term only to find two missed deliveries and a missed phone call. Fortunately the deliveries had been taken in by my very kind neighbours and they were both prizes!
The first was some Grant's nosing glasses and Grant's whisky tumblers which I was expecting, and the other was a Playmobil football set which I wasn't! I managed to catch up with the missed phone call and found out I'd won a Family Pass to Lightwater Valley. It's fantastic because it's local to us and my kids keep asking if we can go - I have to keep saying no because we can't afford it. They are going to be thrilled skinny when I say "Yes we can!"
I have to say that I do wonder if comping karma exists. A few weeks ago I won a prize that I couldn't use and gave it to a friend who has a disabled son, I won some McCain's garden games and gave them to another friend's children, who had just lost their grandad, to keep them busy after the funeral, and I also won some tickets for The Railway Children play at Waterloo Station which we were unable to use so I asked the promoters to pass them on to Great Ormond Street Hospital to give a patient or a patient's sibling a treat. Now, on one day, I get three prizes .... Thank you, comping fairy!
Thank you also to the OP for the Grant's whisky comps, nursey71 for the Playmobil comp and One-Eye for the Lightwater Valley Comp. :T
