Littlehampton to Oxford Circus- Travelling Sunday

Options
Hello I want to take my 7 year old son to Hamleys in London.

The nearest station is Oxford Circus, we are thinking of going on Sunday morning and returning in the afternoon, no set times.

Can anyone help with suggesting a cheap way to get there and back please.

We dont have a rail card.

Many thanks

Jamie

p.s I have posted this again as I think the first time was in the wrong section

If you go to the Southern trains site, you can buy a discounted superoffpeak day return ticket for £15.75 total - it will be valid on any train on Sunday but has to be ordered in advance.

Using advance singles it might be marginally cheaper but you are committed to specific trains

Then get a 38 bus (£2 for you, son rides free) to Piccadilly Circus and walk up Regent Street to Hamleys.

It keeps saying you need to book 7 days in advance, Littlehampton is also a TOD station?

Would you be so kind to post a link, it may be me being a dumb a$$ !

    Thanks

http://www.southernrailway.com/ is what I used - don't recall anything about 7 days in advance (that's a different sort of ticket I think - or it's 7 days if you want tickets posted to you)

Littlehampton has fast ticket machines to pick the ticket up

You don't want a southern daysave ticket - you want a superoffpeak return

To get the cheap fare just put the journey in - Littlehampton to London Victoria, add dates/times/passengers

Use Check times and buy tickets - left hand side of the home page

Just did it and it got me to a ToD page before I gave up, not actually wishing to buy it.

A Super Off Peak Return can be bought on the day of travel at the station.

But if you buy via Southern's website, you get 25% off and kids go for 75 pence.
