FreeviewHD and FreeSatHD on smaller Tv's

Options
Does anyone know when FreeviewHD and FreesatHD will be available on smaller screen Tv's?

Looking for smaller screen TV's for the kitchen and bedrooms but do not want to have to use set top boxes.

It would seem unlikely as, you would simply not be able to tell the difference between SD and HD broadcasts at typical viewing distances, unless of course you wish to view your kitchen telly from about 18inches. (What do you class as a small screen 26"?)
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Probably more like 18" to 22".

But that would not stop manufacturers making smaller screen Tv's with built in Freesat if they want to truely compete with Freeview.

At that size you would not be able to see any difference, SD / HD, unless you had your nose pressed up to the screen.;)
  • But Freesat also broadcasts SD so why not smaller Tv's with Freesat SD built in?

Maybe the mnuftr's think small tv's are bought by people who can't afford proper gear. Times change, my pc monitor is 22" and I hardly ever watch video/tv on it, wouldn't want to. Remember when 26" was as big as it got for normal tv's.
edit- have you seen how small set top boxes can be?

Simply because 99.9999999% of the population with satellite TV doesn't have a full house distribution network of cables to the dish simply because its unfeasable and fraught with lots and lots of problems. However, multiple TVs running off one antenna is very feasible and has been done for years.

Plus they're PORTABLES. Portable means easily movable. Can't do that with a satellite dish without forking out for a stand and satellite finding gear.
